Nokia is clearly number 1 having nearly 500,000 followers when considering both Nokia and Nokia’s Network Business, which have separate LinkedIn pages. Nokia is Followed by Kone, Tieto and Metso, but the gap is large, as these companies have around 37,000 followers.

Number of Employees

Nearly 4 out of 5 (77%) of the most followed companies employ more than 1000 persons. 10% employ less than 201 employees. 3 companies with a relatively small number of employees (less than 201) are Jolla (consumer electronics), Supercell (computer games) and Management Events (event services).

Industries

Industry-wise the companies are very much fragmented. Mechanical or industrial engineering account for 10%, computer software / games / entertainment account for 10%, telecommunications / information technology account for 10%, research / higher education account for 10%, and oil and gas account for 10%. Those industries account for half of the most followed companies in LinkedIn in Finland.
